(Art) 50 Things to Avoid in Street Photography

Rain Dance by Stephen Wright. Image taken from Wiki Media Commons

Personally, I don't do street photography. At least not in the Philippines. The streets are teeming with thieves and robbers so basically, wielding a camera becomes a bit of a status symbol whether you intend to or not. It's expensive to lose a gear for me. That aside, for the rest of you who like getting into street photography, this article would help you in improving your craft.

Enjoy and happy shooting! ... And be wary of who's near your gear.

(Tech) The Top 7 Best Linux Distros for 2014 | Linux.com

For some time I've been on Ubuntu 13.04. It's been working so well that I didn't find it worth the effort to upgrade to 13.10. The next version that would probably interest me is 14.04 or at most, 14.10... But it's still some time away. I've been poking around the net and found something that piqued my interest. I've had about enough of the Unity interface, but I still like running on Linux. The same goes for being in Ubuntu. I supposed I've gotten so used to the way they package things. It's refreshing to see that there are still other distros and they're all getting better. Chances are I might switch to Lubuntu or Xubuntu eventually. Windows 8.1 may be awesome right now, but other than for gaming I still can't justify to myself paying for the price of the OS. Yes, I'm such a cheapskate.

(Tech) No Zoom, Just Plain Prime

I recall seeing a post on a social network a picture of a window of a building. The person who took it was saying something like, "This is what 26x is capable of..."

I know it's no big deal. Though I was able to outdo it without any huge X-times zoom. So how was it done?

(Twist) Random Ramblings

Yeah, I'm out of words. Yet I feel compelled to write something... Anything. It's an insanity that I find amusing. Like a hand writing even after the pen's gone dry...

(Tech) Cid Highwind Vibes

Anyone who has ever played Final Fantasy 7 may remember the character Cid and his airship the Highwind... After that Hindenburg tragedy I didn't think they'd still pursue the idea of airships other than being mere advertising platforms...

(Art) The Mother

Yes, I'm dabbling in poetry again. Same poem with a different twist. I just modified it a bit to sound less cruel and judging.

(Tech) Endeavor Over San Mateo

When I woke up this morning I never thought that the day was going to be special for a geek like me. I found out at work that today the space shuttle Endeavor was going to be flown around California before it would land in LA to be finally retired as a museum display. I was fortunate to see it with my own eyes and have a video for keeps!

(Art) A Reminder, Praise, and Imprecation

I tried dabbling a bit in poetry... It has been some time since I last went artsy. Well here's how it turned out.

(Tech) List Of Network Ports

For some time I found myself stuck with the question "What does this port do?" Or "What's the port for... "

Well to save myself the further trouble I saved a couple of links with that information. Just taking notes here. Here's a link to the list of well known ports in a network.
